Pattern:

Fabric Options:

  • WHITE (Pale Prints by Sevenberry)
  • PINK (Spring Shower by Sevenberry)
  • YELLOW (Spring Shower by Sevenberry)
  • BLUE (Spring Shower by Sevenberry)

Note: Feel free to choose any fabrics of your liking!

Final Block Size: 12″ Square

Fabric Cutting: From the solid WHITE fabric, cut:

  • 2 squares of 5.5″
  • 4 squares of 3″
  • 4 squares of 2.5″

From the solid PINK fabric, cut:

  • 1 square of 4.5″
  • 4 squares of 2.5″

From the solid YELLOW fabric, cut:

  • 4 squares of 3″

From the solid BLUE fabric, cut:

  • 2 squares of 5.5″

Block Assembly:

Create eight Half Square Triangle units by sewing together the four WHITE 3″ squares and the four YELLOW 3″ squares (refer to Diagram 1 (1)).

Form four Hourglass units by combining the two WHITE 5.5″ squares and the two BLUE 5.5″ squares (refer to Diagram 1 (2)).

Arrange a White 2.5″ square, two Half Square Triangle units, and one PINK 2.5″ square to form the Corner unit (refer to Diagram 2). Assemble these patches into two rows, ensuring to press the seam allowances away from the Half Square Triangle units.

Complete the unit by sewing the two rows together and pressing the seam allowance. Repeat this process to make a total of four corner units.

Organize the Corner units, Hourglass units, and the PINK 4.5″ square in the desired layout (refer to Diagram 3).

Sew the three rows together, pressing the seam allowances toward the Hourglass units (refer to Diagram 4).

Finally, assemble the three rows to complete the block. Press the seam allowances for a polished finish.

  2. Hello, I’m new on this site so here we go. You also show a picture of this in browns, whites and blacks on facebook today. The pattern you show me in other colors is just a little different than it is and I cant figure out how to change it to be like the brown and black one. I know it looks like a minor issue but I am still new at this so i cannot make changes myself. Any ideas how i get the pattern for the brown, white and black one. Want to make it for my grandson for his wedding.
